Some time ago I started using precompiled headers in my Windows projects. Having so many includes caused that compilation was taking too much time. Precompiled headers are really helpful in this case.
I will show you how to use them with gcc compiler.
I’ve always wanted to try slrn so I installed it last week. I made configuration and started using it.
I’m very tolerant and even use Vim
but slrn is a very weird program. It asks too much questions, there are too many confirmations - just like in Windows. Maybe it’s possible to turn them off but it should be default. Its default color scheme is terrible - I hate black backgrounds. The most disappointing thing is that this app cannot handle UTF-8.
I treat this application as a good piece of software but nothing else. There are many better news readers.
Yes, I’ve just upgraded my Slackware to the newest version - it works fine and without problems. I had to deal with some new configs and old packages but it’s the normal routine and everything is described in the docs. Also had to reinstall graphics drivers because of the new kernel. System boots without errors, no kernel panics and oopses. I like it ![]()
